Once again was asked to perform at a fundraiser for the Burroughs High School Drama Department. This crowd is, just as it was back in April, awesome! Such a fun time. The Burroughs accompanist, there to play for a few of the students who sang songs during the even, added some piano to a few of my songs as well. Just a great time! I’ll gladly play for this crowd ANYTIME!

This Sunday I’ll be taking part in a an off beat theatrical experience called WRITER MONKEYS! The webiste explains it as…
“A new theater experiment where writers create new pieces based on your suggestions, then read them – live on stage! Does this mean you will be watching people write? Yes! However, while they are doing so, you will be entertained by a live musician and a troupe of improvisers who ALSO will be using your suggestions. The result? A live-on-stage mash-up of prose, poetry, silliness, and songs. Each show features a new lineup of writers, improvisers, and musicians. Come feel the literary thunder! Created by J. Keith van Straaten and Nicole Criona”

Okay, so here the first results of the Throwing Toasters Music Video experiment. At a show at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, we invited the audience to shoot a music video of our song Global Warning using their cell phones. Three audience members sent in their footage and this is the result.

Grant will be performing in Henson Alternative’s Stuffed & Unstrung at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco for five shows August 25th-27th. For this show you need to know one thing to fully understand it. Jimmy Palumbi is one of my favorite comics. One of his bits is singing ‘John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt’ over and over until the M.C. comes up on stage and takes the mic from him. So that’s what was going on in this song. Short set, small crowd, but they seemed to have a good time! Enjoy!

The crowd was a little ‘talky’ so the recording is a little noisy. There’s also a looping error in GLOBAL WARNING that made me just play live. So, this show is only being posted for completists.
