Music

So here’s the deal…CDs are old school. Sure you may still buy them, but what’s the first thing 99% of people do when they do buy them? They rip them onto their computer so thaey can put them onto their iPod or other MP3 Player. We’re betting that if you’re tech savvy enough to be visiting this website, you’re savvy enough to listen to your music digitally! So here’s our music in handy MP3 format for you to download.

Now the second thing we believe around here is that YOU should determine how much you want to pay for your music! Not major record labels, not us, YOU! So this is how it’s gonna be around these parts: We’re going to put all our music up for you to download here on this page. Feel free to download any or all of it and listen to it at your leisure. If after listening you feel that it’s worth some money, come on back, Click the Donation button and make a PayPal donation to us for whatever amount you think it’s worth (and don’t be a weisenheimer and send us a bill for the time you had to spend listening to it)! It’s that simple!

The album was mixed and engineered by Grammy Award Winning engineer Steve Pouliot who’s next gig after this one was flying to London to Royal Albert Hall to record the Moody Blues with a 50 piece orchestra! The name of the CD was chosen from a multitude of suggestions made by Throwing Toaster’s fans. The winning suggestion, “burnt” was made by toaster fan Jess Burley! On the hidden tracks, the first one begins at 04:16:00 after the last song (or 4/16/00) the date the CD was ready for production and the next one begins at 05:20:00 (or 5/20/00) the date of the pre-release of the CD at ALCON 2000 (and also Grant’s 26th birthday). They are presented here in their original format for nostalgia’s sake.

Most songs were recorded at, the now defunct, Sonoma Blue in Studio City, CA with the rest being taped at the Brea Improv, Brea, CA. Each disc was “handcrafted” here at Toaster Central. Each disc was hand numbered and many of them featured a special tray card signed by all the members of the band. People who bought the disc were (and still are) encouraged to “register” their copy of ALVIN for the ALVIN REGISTRY. The CD was named after Grant’s cat ALVIN but the name was chosen in an online poll by Throwing Toasters fans. Alvin, sadly, passed away on June 13, 2000.
